What is Credit Score?

The credit score is an indicator of credit risk. Credit risk concerns two aspects: the ability and willingness of a corporation or an organization to meet its financial obligations in full and on time. A credit score reflects the creditworthiness of a company based on factors such as corporate debt, trade credit, tax liabilities, and the relative likelihood that the company may default.

Credit scores can be provided either by internal departments such as the risk management department of a bank or by an independent party that specializes in evaluating credit risk. Large financial institutions such as banks, insurance firms, and large corporations develop and use internal credit scores. In addition to internal credit scores, large enterprises or small, median enterprises can also use third-party credit scores, such as FiinGroup CreditScore, for credit risk evaluation.
